2017 Kia Forte vs 2016 Kia Forte
Each year Kia works hard to update its vehicles to include new and exciting features and capabilities. In order to figure out what is new with a model it can help to compare the two most recent model years. Today we’re going to do just that by comparing the 2017 Kia Forte vs 2016 Kia Forte. By comparing these two vehicles you will be able to decide if you want the 2016 Forte or if you want to wait for the 2017 Forte to arrive.
What’s new with the 2017 Forte?

|Available||Sporty S Trim||Not Available|
|Yes||Apple CarPlay and Android Auto Compatibility||No|
The first major difference between the 2017 and 2016 Forte is that that newer model is available with a completely new trim level, the S. This new sportier trim level sits between the entry-level LX and the top-trim EX model. The new S trim adds sport-tuned suspension, 16-inch alloy wheels, LED positioning lights, rear spoiler and a chrome exhaust tip. The S trim also has improved cloth seating material as well as exclusive black cloth seats with white contrast stitching as well as a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob.
Does the Kia Forte have Apple CarPlay?
Also new for this model, the Kia Forte EX and S come standard with UVO3 telematics, which is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Both of these functions help you to use the 7-inch touchscreen to control smartphone functions like sending text messages, streaming music and getting driving directions.
The 2017 Kia Forte also has a new standard engine. It now has a 2.0-liter engine that replaced the 1.8-liter engine from the previous model year. This new base engine paired with a six-speed manual transmission delivers improved fuel economy and smoother shifting, but a newly engineered six-speed automatic transmission is also available.
